Sack Aduba AVG Chairman now, ASSEF Tells Gov. Obiano

The Anambra State Security Forum (ASSEF) has called for the immediate removal of the chairman of Anambra State Vigilant Group (AVG), Mr.Ikechukwu Aduba, who is a retired Commissioner of Police.
The Forum which spoke while addressing newsmen in Onitsha alleged that the retired Police Commissioner has been promoting his personal interest over and above his official duties and statutory responsibilities.
The spokesman of the group Mr. Mike Okonkwo , a retired Chief Superintendent of Police (ACP) said Aduba should be fired for his lack of professionalism and ostentatious life style.
ACP Okonkwo alleged that Aduba was deep neck into the current crisis rocking security of Modebe Enterprises Limited , an Estate company in Onitsha, where one of the Modebes, Chuka Modebe, who returned from abroad started formenting trouble by trying to disband the existing security network already existing in the Estate company.
“In an attempt to force himself into the company, he began to disarm the Vigilant group that was providing security there, using Aduba to destabilise Modebe Enterprises Limited security by imposing his own security outfit.
When they protested,he brought the Civil Defence personnel to take over security in a private company”.
They also alleged that three of Modebe Enterprises is registered Enterprise with Directors.
He said that some security men have been languishing in Police cell at Awka at the instance of Aduba for no just cause.
They alleged that Chuka and Aduba have matternal relationship and accounted for his more than passive interest in the company.
Okonkwo called on the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr. John Abang to immediately release the three vigilant men being held in his cell in SCID Awka over unjusfiable and unsubstantiated allegations.
He also called on Governor Willie Obiano to immediately relieve Aduba of his position as the Chairman of AVG since he has abused his position and failed to reposition the Vigilant operation in the State when some Vigilante Group under him are languishing in hunger and object poverty ,lack of training, no known and unified security Uniform which makes them looks and wore a rag-tag Uniform while some took hard drugs like Indian Help among other known reckless behevoral attitude as a Vigilante groups in Anambra state.
The group also asked the Commandant of Civil Defence in the State to urgently withdraw his men from Modebe Enterprises or they would be pushed to call for his Commandant General to remove him from Anambra State without further delay,ASSEF warned
