Godwin Akpan, the re-elected chairman of the Newspapers and Magazines Distributors Association of Nigeria (NDAN), Lagos Island Zone, has appealed to media owners and government to collaborate and provide insurance for its members.

He also appealed to media houses and government to collaborate with the association’s leadership to identify and gather data and carry out its needs, stressing that his administration’s “priority is to reposition and rebrand our distribution hall to improve standards.”

The new chairman made these requests among others during his address on the occasion of his swearing-in last week, stating that “vendors and agents are endangered species who face serious occupational hazards on a daily basis.”

My victory is for all of us and not for some of us. I promise to be magnanimous in this victory by maintaining as usual, an open-door policy in my government.”
