Kalu Mourns Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu, huge loss to Abia and Nigeria

The National Coordinator, People’s Democratic Party Coalition, Chief Dr. Emeka Kalu, has expressed deep sorrow at the loss of Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu who recently passsd on to eternal rest after a brief illness.

He described the Ex Naval Office as one of the best intellectually and administratively sound gentlemen Nigeria has ever produced from the Southeast parts, regretting that a vacuum created by such a heavy loss will be daunting to fill.

While in the military as a Naval officer, he served meritoriously as a career officer and his appointment as member of the Supreme Military Council in 1975, to his appointment as the first Military Governor of the old Imo State was a good demonstration of his capacity and capability in the military.

Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu was the man that laid the foundation for mordern Imo State through a wonderful master plan that saw to the development of Imo State into a mordern City ahead of Lagos, Enugu and Abuja at that time, a legacy posterity will not foeget easily.

it was after he was appointed Military Governor of Lagos State in 1977 that Lagos State began to enjoy the modern-day city development that it enjoys to date because Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu was a man with a penchant for progress and positive development.

Above all, the Admiral’s life exemplified the best ideals of public service in all aspects of his endeavours and therefore will be greatly missed at all times.

As a politician, his contributions as a NADECO member ensured that the military swear to power was cut shot for Nigeria to return to full fleged democracy, indeed, there is no end the positive contributions of their rare gentleman to the development of Abia, Imo, Southern Ebonyi, Lagos and other parts of Nigeria that felt his leadership accumen.

May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.
