Val Ozigbo, President of Transcorp declares for Anambra Governor

The President and Chief Executive Officer of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria plc, TRANSCORP, a diversified conglomerate with interest in so many areas, Mr Valentine Chineto Ozigbo yesterday declared his interest to govern Anambra state under the People’s Democratic Party , (PDP) come 2021.

Addressing his ward members at Amesi ward as well as other stakeholders from Amesi and other communities in Aguata local government area in his residence, Ozigbo appealed for support to actualize his dream of becoming the next Governor of Anambra state. 

Ozigbo, a young man in his late 40’s, said he decided to contest to be Governor of Anambra state to impact on the society and take governance to a level not seen before not rhetorics.

He said he would give Anambra the best, reminding that he would do in Anambra state, what he did for 8 years in Transcorp that made it turn to be the best hospitality industry in Africa for 5 consecutive years. 
The Amesi born international businessman said his foundations’ four in one programmes of youth empowerment, scholarship, Business empowerment and seasonal concerts.

He further said that he together with like minds including legendary Kanu Nwankwo introduced the Freestyle Football Association (FFA) in Nigeria and that the country will host the world freestyle football next year with over 70 countries participating.

He informed that as he has led TRANSCORP to success in the energy sector, hospitality industry and Agriculture is the same way he would champion Anambra interest for the good of all as he would galvanize Anambra billionaires for the common good of the state. 

He reassured them that if elected that he would make them proud as his antecedents were for the good of the people of Amesi, Aguata, Anambra South senatorial zone and the state at large. He said his candidacy won’t be an imposition but a consensus as a bridge builder.

He announced that Unusual Praise group of Catholic Gospel Artists which is the largest in Africa would be hosted in Anambra next year with over 200 unusual entrepreneurs empowered. 

Ozigbo before now was the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Transcorp Hotels Plc for 8 years before becoming President of the group. He has over 17 years experience in the banking sector with NAL Merchant Bank, Diamond Bank, Continental Trust Bank, FSB International Bank, Standard Trust Bank, United Bank for Africa and Bank PHB.

Earlier, the oldest man at the gathering, Mr Fidelis Ireagwu led a prayer session asking God to crown the desires of Val Ozigbo to become the Governor of Anambra state, even as a state Executive member of PDP, Hon Okey Okpala  reassured Ozigbo of all the support of the party to actualize his dream, if under free and fair primary he emerged the candidate of PDP. 
Contributing, the PDP chairman of Amesi ward , Afam Okpalauzegbu and Gab Egeonu encouraged all Amesi and Aguata people to support Val Ozigbo actualize his dream of serving Anambra people as Governor.

In his remarks ,Engr Dr Aloy Ezeabasili informed that Ozigbo and Prof Charles Soludo are on the same page ,but will beat Soludo in so many areas when compared.  He encouraged him to meet more Anambra people for better understanding of his personality.

In an interview, Sir Humphrey Azodo described Ozigbo as competent, and reliable at all times, praying that God grants him his heart desires of governing Anambra state to take the state to the next level.
