The Director-General of the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), Dr Gambo Gumel Aliyu has announced the setting up of Committees in the six zones of the agency to be responsible for accepting nomination of people to be trained on concerted efforts against discrimination and stigmatization of people living with HIV/AIDS in the country from stakeholders.

Those trained according to Dr Aliyu will step down the knowledge to others in line with the Anti-discrimination Act 2014, on stigmatisation of people living with HIV. This he said will help to put on the check the increasing level of discrimination and stigmatization against people living with HIV/AIDS.

In his contribution, the National Coordinator, Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria, Ibrahim Abudkadir, lamented that counselling of people living with HIV/AIDS has dropped an appealed to NACA and other agencies concerned to ensure something urgent is done to have counsellors for them.
