Hon. Obinna Emenaka Distributes Bags of Rice, Cartons of Noodles To Widows Amid Birthday Celebration

The member representing Anambra East constituency in the state house of Assembly, Mr Obinna Emenaka has been described as one of those who loves extending their benovelence towards putting smiles on the faces of the downtrodden in the society.

The Catholic bishop of Ekwulobia , Most reverend Okpaleke stated this during the forty second birthday celebration of the law maker in his residential city home in Awka the Anambra state capital.

The birthday celebration which attracted stakeholders in the state was also use by the law maker to distribute one thousand bags of and one thousand cartoons of noddles to some widows, less privileged ones and Persons living with Sickle Cell led by their Cordinator, Mrs Aisha Edwards.

The Covid 19 pandemic no doubt is hitting hard on everyone in the society including the rich and wealthy individuals.

However the poor and downtrodden seem to be the worst hit as the lockdown , seat at home , curfew and other protocol measures put it in place by the government to contain the novel virus lead to increased hunger and poverty especially to some widows who have no one to provide for them.

This according to Pharmacist Obinna Emenaka prompted his resolve to celebrate his forty second birthday with widows and persons living with Sickle Cell and other less privileged ones from Anambra East Constituency, Anambra West local government area as well as other areas.

” the rich people in the society are also crying over the circumstances brought about by Covid -19 pandemic , so i asked myself, if the wealthy individuals are being affected, what happens to the widows, poor people, and less privileged persons in my constituency and beyond, that is why i decided to invite them to come share the little i have with my Family as government can not do it alone. “

Mr Emenaka while encouraging the widows not to loose hope on themselves , enjoined them to rise up to the present societal menace including rape, defilement and sexual harassment and contribute in instilling moral values to the youths.

“The law maker therefore distributed one bag of rice and one carton of Noddles to over one thousand persons present and also presented them with cash donation of one million naira to enable the beneficiaries buy other condiments needed.

Mr Emenaka used the medium to commend governor Willie Obiano and his wife, Mrs Ebelchukwu Obiano for their exemplary leadership style especially their resolve to ensure that the people of the state enjoy dividends of democracy .

The kind gesture by the law maker triggered notable individuals and political stakeholders including the clergy present to pour encomium on the Three Star General and Ijele Omanbala as he is fondly called .

The Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, Most Reverend Peter Okpalaeke who extolled the philanthropic gestures of the law maker, offered prayers for his family and all widows.

The Auxilary bishop of Awka, Jonas Benson describing the step by the law maker as biblical, enjoined the widows to have self confidence in themselves and live a positive life despite the economic challenges.

In an interview, the speaker of the Anmabra state House of Adsembly, Mr Uche Okafor and his counterpart representing Onitsha North Constituency two, Mr Edward Ibuzor noted that Obinna Emenaka has continued to give quality representation to his constituents , a gesture that is what emulating.

In a remark, the commissioner for Women affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue said the Anambra state government will continue to identify with such kind gestures aimed at promoting the wellbeing of the downtrodden.

The Coordinator , Persons Living with Sickle Cell Disorder , lady Aisha Edwards, who could not hide her love for the Law maker,

Recalled the efforts made by Mr Emenaka in ensuring that the Sickle cell law scaled through legislative process in the state.
Some of the beneficiaries, including Princess Ngozi Okoye And Mrs Elizbirth Oforka Prayed God to keep blessing their benefactor as he continues to identify with the less privileged ones in the society.

The wife of the law maker, Pharmacist Esther Emenaka presented birthday cake to her husband which was later cut by all the people present as they wished the celebrant a happy birthday.

Radio Nigeria Correspondent Ucbe Ndeke reports that the speaker of the Anambra sttae House of Assembly, Mr Uche Okafor as well as the commissioner for Womens Affairs , Lafy Ndidi Mezue were among the dignitaries that witnessed the event.
