Emeka Ojukwu Junior: A Case of Unfortunate Heritage

Prologue

I must begin by reminding everyone that the name Odumegwu Ojukwu is not just one of the most prestigious names in Nnewi, but a revered surname globally, usually associated with high level of intelligence, wit, industry, entrepreneurship and extremely high IQ

While the almighty Louis Odumegwu Ojukwu had the world feeding from his palms, his son, EzeIgbo Gburugburu had the world bowing to his sagacity and capacity but Lo and Behold, his own son and grandson of Louis, Emeka Ojukwu Junior has the world covering their faces in shame and looking away in absolute disgust while some fall short of questioning the parentage, save for the striking resemblance to his ancestors but then, it clearly explains the phrase “never judge a book by its cover”

One look at Emeka Ojukwu Junior and you get the impression of what Louis and Dim might have looked like, when they were bubbling with in steam of youth but if you expect any other similarities between them, you will be in for an embarrassing awakening as asides the physical looks, Emeka Ojukwu Junior is the direct opposite of his revered ancestors, akin to the proverbial black sheep or prodigal son if one wants to be brutally honest about the situation

The Ojukwus have been a recurring decimal ever since Louis put them and Nnewi on the world stage for all the right reasons, including refusal to change his name to Louis Philip in order to be knighted by the Queen of England, he insisted on keeping the Odumegwu Ojukwu name, which was granted him, down to his own son Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu also refusing to sell out and keep quiet when Ndi Igbo came under the threat of extermination before and during the genocide dubbed Civil War but somehow, those genes seem to have been inherited by his EzeIgbo Gburugburu’s wife, who has been as fierce, vocal and dogged in her opinions, which also hammer on the injustices being meted out on Ndi Igbo by some unscrupulous elements, while unfortunately, his son Emeka Ojukwu Junior is not just oblivious to the responsibility that comes with his family name but has been busy attending to his stomach infrastructure and disgracing not just the Odumegwu Ojukwu name but Nnewi and the Igbo Nation as a whole, through uttering of statements that can best be described as consistent absolute rubbish!

A. How else can one describe a Diokpala from such a high placed family, who on 22nd November 2017, he explained why he denounced his own Father’s party APGA and shamelessly wore the full regalia of the APC. When he was asked about Dim and APGA, he said and I quote him verbatim… “We shouldn’t take our history and our past to be shackles that hold us in one place.. You need to be at the table where decisions are being made, if you are not there, you will always get the short end of the stick, you will be marginalised” (see https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/more-news/250282-i-joined-apc-ojukwus-son.html)

B. How else can one better describe a man who shamelessly failed as a LG Chairman, when his own father was already a top and feared military officer who later became a Head of State under 35yrs while at that same age, he couldn’t even manage Nnewi North Local Government which was given to him out of respect for his family name and not that he deserves it

C. How else can one better describe a man who seemingly appears to lack any sense of dignity as seen on the 17th of November 2017, when he officially dumped APGA and joined APC. He had this to say and I quote him verbatim “It is time to leave the shadows for light. Every now and then, they come out with my fathers shadow to confuse the people” yet this very same man, also came out 8th of May 2019 to reiterate that he hasn’t returned to APGA and remains a committed APC person, while also shamelessly stating on the 3rd of December 2019 and I quote him verbatim “Having worked for many years closely with Governor Obiano, I can, with the same level of confidence, state unequivocally, that he did not and would not make the disparaging and false statements towards my late father, attributed to him in that article” yet this very same man on the 2nd of December 2020 was addressed as the APGA Board of Trustee Member on a blog (see https://www.premiumtimesng.com/regional/ssouth-east/249514-ojukwus-son-joins-apc-commends-buhari.html

Questions

  1. Why did Emeka Ojukwu Junior leave APGA if the allegations being made by his Father’s wife are false?
  2. What has Emeka Ojukwu Junior done for Ndi Igbo ever since he joined the table where decisions are made?
  3. Why is Emeka Ojukwu Junior only powerful where his father’s wife is but turns into a chihuahua where the very people who have eroded his father’s ideals and images from all APGA materials are?
  4. Emeka Ojukwu Junior was busy ranting about people using his father’s image indiscriminately yet has said nothing about the blatant disregard about his father by APGA… Why?
  5. What did Emeka Ojukwu Junior mean exactly when he said it was time to leave the shadow for the light?.. If he still maintains that his father is the soul of APGA, isn’t that statement automatically a betrayal and total denial of not just his father but all his father stood for?
  6. Would Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and Louis Odumegwu Ojukwu, the ancestors of Emeka Ojukwu Junior have taken the same decisions and actions as their descendant?
  7. If Emeka Ojukwu Junior is not back in APGA like he publicly stated, what then is his business with the statements made by his father’s wife about APGA and Obiano (see
    https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/05/i-have-not-joined-apga-ojukwu-jnr/)
  8. Are the statements made by his father’s wife in anyway derogatory or insulting to either the Ojukwu family or his late father? If No, then why is he ranting and urinating all over social media, disgracing his old age in the process?
  9. If Emeka Ojukwu Junior is back to APGA, is it proper to install him as a Board of Trustee Member of the same party he tagged shadow and fraud when he left?
  10. Why did he leave the APC despite describing it as the light and the place to be to avoid marginalisation?
  11. Why is Emeka Ojukwu Junior more loyal to Obiano than his own Father’s wife who has stood firm against all odds to keep the prestige of his father intact if he truly has any regards for his own father?

Epilogue

Whilst it is none of my business how the Odumegwu Ojukwu Family conduct their affairs in private, it becomes not just mine but the business of every onye Igbo on this planet when some useless and utterly nonsensical comments are made whilst mentioning either Louis or Dim especially when such comments appear to attack an obvious truth that can be seen by Stevie Wonder himself

It is obvious that compared to his ancestors, Emeka Ojukwu Junior is an outright failure who has resigned himself to the belle-face league with his only shot at relevance or clout, is by attacking his Father’s wife, who has more balls than him in tackling the very people he suckers up to despite them being the very reason, the core values of APGA and his Father’s ideals have been eroded away

Emeka Ojukwu Junior must desist from bringing further shame and disgrace to Ndi Nnewi and Ndi Igbo in general.. He must go and find a way to be of great relevance to this generation like his Father and GrandFather were to theirs…

Etezina anyi ule.. Enough is enough!
