Anambra Nov. 6: APGA Kicks Off Open Campaign, Visits Anambra East/West Council Areas

Hardly a month to the November sixth Governorship election in Anambra State, the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA has launched its election campaign.

The campaign kick-started from Anambra East and West Local Government Areas.

Government House Correspondent, Ejike Abana reports that the Chairman Board of Trustees of the party, Governor Willie Obiano led executives and party faithful to the venues of the campaign, Otuocha Township Stadium and Community Primary School, Mmiata-Anam respectively.

While emphasizing that he will continue with ongoing projects, Governor Obiano advised that for continuity and completion of all ongoing projects, Ndi Anambra should mobilize and vote for APGA, adding that unity is important at this stage as the APGA candidate will do better than him when he assumes office.

For his part, the APGA Campaign Director General, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu stressed that the major aim of the outing was to canvass for votes, reiterating that the governor performed creditably and assured that his successor under APGA will lead Ndi Anambra to the promised land.

The Member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, at the National Assembly Chief Chinedu Obidigwe, pointed out that successive APGA administrations have been good to them, reminding them that it is time to work for the victory of Professor Chukwuma Soludo because of their brother who is the current governor of the State.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Lands, Mr. Bonaventure Enemali, revealed that Governor Obiano has embarked on capacity development in the area, just like his Works counterpart, Mr Marcel Ifejiofor said that the present administration has completed twenty roads in Anambra East, has thirty-three roads ongoing and will continue to work on the remaining roads this dry season, assuring that Professor Soludo will continue from where Governor Obiano will stop.

The APGA flag bearer Professor Soludo flanked by his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim stressed that Governor Obiano had taken Anambra to a greater pedestal, saying that as captured in his manifesto, the major threat in Anambra State is the environment, noting that to tackle flooding the area, his administration will hold talks with the federal government to start building structures along the river banks in riverine areas.

Professor Soludo assured that his administration has a plan to be distributing one million seedlings every year, assuring that he will continue to work from where Governor Obiano will stop.

House of Assembly members, Transition Committee and party Chairmen, Traditional rulers in the areas, among others attended the event.
