Amansea crisis: Man chains 300 photos, four chains in his monkey’s stomach, says Osisiego, Orebe Village Chairman

How come over 300 photos of villagers were found in the shrine inside the home of the man who alleged that his villagers banished him in Amansea Community, Awka North local government area Anambra state? These photos were pinned down in ‘Ntuebi’.

Orebe Villagers Amansea Awka North local government area Anambra state, yesterday described Mr Reuben Onwuegbunem as a lair, evil and fetish.

Reuben had addressed a press conference stating his village banished him , took over his only ancestral land among others.

Orebe Villagers led by their Chairman, Mr Okechukwu Joseph Igah aka Osisiego Amansea said Reuben was born in 1961 and wondered what he wanted to achieve to lie about his age.

Mr Okechukwu said Reuben was not 75 years as he claimed and was never banished from the community but his evil plots exposed him and he ran for his life as youths would have lynched him that night after he was exposed as fetish, inhuman, evil and a liar.
He said for the gravity of the atrocities Reuben committed against the village, that the village signed a contract of agreement never to name anyone Reuben in their Village.

He reminded that although Reuben supported his emergence as Chairman of Orebe Village, he could not support him when he came short of the Constitution he championed while as Security chairman of the village that no one should sell their firewood but is as free as air to take a trailer load for domestic usage.

According to him, Rueben did contravened the rule and was fined by the villagers. That, he said led to his creating one crisis and problem to the other against the wishes and desires of the villagers after he vowed publicly to make their lives miserable.

He alleged Rueben had taken 53 chairs the Villagers contributed to buy and kept in his house ; beaten one of the village chairman to pulp with his children; smoking Indian hemp in public against laws of the village that no one should smoke hemp in public in the village; beat up his uncle’s only promising son even forced him to smoke Indian hemp making the boy useless as he ran mad to mention but a few.

Osisiego Amansea informed that what broke the camel’s back was his kidnap ,detention and torturing of security men , Friday Offia and Anachuna Nnamdi as their alarm raised suspicion and youths came to know what was happening in his house only to see two security men in his dungeon being tortured.

He said the stories being fabricated by Reuben won’t fly.

He said it was mob action against what they saw in his shrine that led to his escape which was his saving grace as he would have been killed that night for the things the mob saw in his house.

Osisiego Amansea however said as a leader , he wants peace and harmony in his village as the village can’t go back to Egypt again after he has been exposed as the source of all the troubles in the village , hence he is appealing to Reuben to repent and return to his house as nobody is pursuing him. He concluded that the villagers are heading to the promised land already and won’t look back.

Osisiego Amansea said he has a subsisting court case against Anti cult for abuse of human rights necessitated because they were conniving with Reuben to be arresting their youths for fabricated cult related matters, when they were innocent of allegetions.

Osisiego Amansea however informed that the mob action was when a monkey in his house was killed by the youths and 4 chains were found in it’s stomach padlocked with keys. He said he had destroyed the lives of some youths sequel to his selling of Indian hemp to an extent NDLEA evacuated 149kg of Indian hemp in his house after arresting him. He wondered why he and his children should kidnap security men by 11:58 pm on claims that they harassed his child who went to ease up outside when he has functional toilets in his house.

Orebe Village Youth Coordinator, Lawrence Chinonso Okafor confirmed he was the one who heard the faint shouts of the security men and mobilized youths to discover what was happening in Reuben’s house at 11:58pm only to discover the man’s inhumanity against his fellow men with his children. They now rescued the victims and saw unimaginable thighs in his chamber including over 300 photos pinned to ‘ntuobi’ charms.

For the Chairman Emeritus, Orebe Village Amansea, Chief Raphael Onyekwelu said the community is pained Reuben was lying against them in the media after 13 years of holding the village at ransom as an enemy of progress and development.

He alleged that Reuben is a killer and he uses expensive charms to confuse the villagers at anytime seriouse matter of development is being discussed but they never knew until that abduction of security men for torture.

He appealed to the Government to help them banish Rueben permanently as he has not been banished and he was talking about banishment. He decried that he lavished their Village money on litigation and other unnecessary voyage having vowed life would be miserable for them for telling him the truth and fining him for contravening the law during a village meeting.

On his part, a stakeholder in Orebe Village Amansea, Chief Charles Onyekwelu who was a former Vigilance group chairman in Orebe, and a senior to Reuben said he is 58 years and wondered why Rueben should claim 75 when their age mates are not up to 60.

He emphatically said they Reuben was not banished from Orebe but he banished himself because of his evil plots.

He queried the rationale behind Reuben’s claims that he was banished when his wife entered the village to carry her bags the day he was speaking to our Correspondent and two of Reuben’s sisters came for Reuben’s goats. He wondered if a banished person comes to carry goats and bags? He concluded that Reuben was running from his shadows. He said against Reuben’s claims that he has 6 Children that Reuben has 5 children and his daughter had 1 at home making it 6.

Chief Charles Onyekwelu maintained that Reuben has no personal portion of land in Orebe Village Amansea as his claims in the newspaper publication was all fabricated tales to get public sympathy. He confirmed that Reuben’s father and his own father Onwuegbune have no personal land not to talk of himself or Reuben.

He said his running away was that in the process of releasing security men he kidnapped, youths killed a monkey in his compound only to discover 4 chains in the stomach of the monkey padlocked and they searched more in his house and saw over 300 photos including that of his daughter and other of their youths stuck to Buffalo head ( Isiatu) in the ‘ntuebii as a means of chaining them from success and progress. He said the charms cost is about N300,000 and he has it 3.

He said his grievance was that the villagers fined him N2000 for selling their firewood against the rules made by the society. He said Reuben wants to kill everyone in Orebe but he won’t succeed as he has been exposed.

Mr Uchenna Cajethan Nweke, the man who was chairman of Orebe Village in 2007 when Reuben Onwuegbunem started giving troubles went down memory lane on how he mowed the village trees as woods and sold against their rules and was fined prompting him to announce publicly that the village won’t know peace ever as far as he is alive.

He recalled how Rueben goes to shops to trouble people smoking openly Indian hemp and his constant dragging the village to the police monitoring team of IGP which they raised and spent over N600,000 but later the Village forgave him , though he has refused to repent from his ill ways.

He accused him of selling Indian hemp with impunity alongside his wife and children.
