Woman seeks divorce over husband’s inability to provide food
A housewife, Mrs Aisha Hamisu on Thursday begged an Upper Area Court in Kubwa, Abuja for divorce over husband, Nasiru Yunusa’s inability to provide food for his family.
Hamisu told the court that she got married to Yunusa under the Islamic Law in 2021.
She alleged that Yunusa abandoned his responsibilities as a husband and father.
“My husband moved me back to father’s house on April 19, 2022 and disrespects me and my parents by insulting us.
“He does not provide for feeding and I am suffering with the 13-month- old baby without any help,’’ she alleged.
She begged the court to dissolve the marriage on grounds of lack of feeding and disrespect to her parents.
Yunusa denied the allegations against him and told the court that he normally provide food for her and the baby.
He also added that he did not want a divorce.
The judge, Mr Yahaya Sheshi, adjourned the case until July 5 for the petitioner to bring in her witnesses.(NAN)
