“Education Works, Hardwork Works Better”Says Zubby Michael

A Remarkable and Memorable event was held at Nnamdi Azikiwe University in the Faculty of Social Sciences on Friday, July 3rd 2026 to educate students of what lies beyond the lecture hall and how to overcome these life challenges , it was organised by the Office of The Vice President of Association Of Mass Communication Students (ASOMAS) in collaboration with the Office of the Financial Secretary ASOMAS and featured Prof. Stella Okunna, Zubby Michael, and other dignitaries who spoke to the students on how to maximize their opportunities,learn skills, prioritize hard work and consistency

Prof. Stella Okunna, in her speech urged the students whom she addressed as her ‘children’ to get their voters card and vote as they are also part of making political decisions “Get your voters card and be a big part of political decisions “

The Head Of Department of Mass Communication; Prof. Allen Adum, in his remarks stated that “student should learn skills that would help them after school and not just rely on white-collar jobs as there are no jobs anywhere.”

Furthermore, Prof. Von Maduka encouraged the students in his speech that “in the field of broadcasting that its passion that drives a person as there is no money in broadcasting”.He therefore encouraged the students to put money behind them while chasing their broadcasting careers.

In addition, Mr Molokwu advised the students to not just want to broadcast but that they should also have the right content

Proceeding further, Mr Oscar admonished the student to work hard for themselves and not expect anything to be given to them on a platter.

The host Adikaibe Peculiar and Amaraegbu Precious also invited the renowned nollywood actor Zubby Michael who amidst arrival caused loud cheers amongst the students who were happy to see him and hear him speak.

He presented an award to Mr Molokwu before his speech and appreciated the students, urged them to take their studies seriously but while studying hard they should also learn skills and be hardworking.
If education no pay,hardwork go pay and with that he thanked the students who were happily cheering him.

A 300l student of Mass Communication Ojigwe Chimmuanya said at the closure of the event “Zubby is going back and the program has ended but what he said makes sense i agree to the factthat if education doesn’t pay that hardwork will”.
