Kogi Assembly Moves to Curb Rent Hikes, Tenant Exploitation

Kogi State House of Assembly has begun work on a new tenancy law aimed at stopping arbitrary rent increases, unlawful evictions, and exploitation by landlords and agents.

The proposed legislation seeks to replace the 2007 Rent Control Law with a stronger framework to regulate housing relations and protect tenants’ rights in the state.
