Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has reaffirmed his commitment to continue demolishing properties illegally built on government land, despite criticism. Speaking at an event in Abuja, Wike dismissed claims of blackmail and emphasized that many of the demolished structures were illegally constructed by land grabbers, some of which posed security threats. He vowed to pursue further demolitions and stated there would be no leniency for those encroaching on government land, regardless of their status. Additionally, Wike warned FCT landowners with unpaid ground rents that their titles would be revoked if payments were not made within the set deadline.
