US Travel Ban Blocks Nigerian Spouse, American Husband Laments
American content creator Chris Joondeph says the new US travel restrictions now bar his Nigerian wife, Adenike, from entering the country. The Proclamation, signed by President Trump, expands previous bans to include immigrant visas for spouses, affecting Nigerians and nationals from 34 other countries.
Joondeph highlighted the hardship of living apart since May 2024 while awaiting her visa, calling the move “essentially impossible” for family reunification.
