Dr. Chris Ngige, former Labour Minister, was granted bail by an FCT High Court in his N2.2bn contract fraud case. His trial is set for January 28, 2026. Bail conditions include a civil servant surety with property in Abuja, surrender of his passport, and travel restrictions.

Ngige is accused of awarding NSITF contracts to associates and receiving kickbacks. The EFCC opposed bail, while his lawyer cited bailable offences and health concerns.
