Unizik’s Johnbosco Ogueme Emerges Winner in https://www.odogwublog.com Media Contest

A 200-level student of the Department of Mass Communication, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (Unizik), has won the coveted prize for https://www.odogwublog.com Odogwu Media Contest for Mass Communication students and other students of the university.
Generally, Johnbosco was announced as the overall winner of the competition unanimously by the team of judges. He won with an impressive 143 likes, while Edeh Faith, a 200-level Mass Communication student, was the first runner-up with 111 likes. Janet Obimba, a 300-level Mass Communication student, secured the second runner-up spot with 97 likes.

The winner received a cash prize of ₦20,000, while the first runner-up got ₦15,000, and the second runner-up received ₦10,000. Other participants were awarded ₦2,000 worth of data as consolation prizes.
Unizik’s Johnbosco OGUEME is a 200-level student of the Mass Communication department. He has a strong background in journalism and is passionate about writing and reporting events. He is a member of the Union of Campus Journalists (UCJ) Unizik and serves as their Vice President. In his free time, he engages in writing and listening to music.
The contest was judged based on the following criteria: each contestant’s article was published on the https://www.odogwublog.com Facebook page, and each participant was expected to like, comment, and share their article for others to do the same as a sign of endorsement of the quality of the report.

The judges of the competition were Mbah Abigail, a media professional and President of UCJ Unizik, and Chinaza Osigwe, a well-known media editor and Editor-in-Chief of UCJ Unizik.
The competition was keenly contested, with the highest number of likes and comments determining the winner.
According to Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, PhD, the sole aim of the contest was not only to promote https://www.odogwublog.com but also to provide a platform for Mass Communication students to develop their writing skills while applying theoretical knowledge.

Comrade Odogwu commended Obimba Janet Chidera, the second runner-up, for her efforts and encouraged Edith Faith, the first runner-up, to continue striving for excellence. He urged other contestants to be steadfast in achieving results, which would motivate the financiers to continue supporting the contest.
https://www.odogwublog.com. Promoters have been empowering young Nigerians via online and social media contests for over 10 years. The contest has been designed to encourage students to develop their skills and, ultimately, support their education by paying their school fees.

However, Comrade Odogwu noted that if students had shown more interest in learning, they would have won their school fees outright. Nevertheless, the contest will continue to provide opportunities for students to grow and develop their skills.
