Soludo reassures residents of steady power supply in Anambra

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has reassured Anambra residents that his administration will give the state a 24 hours electricity power supply during in the state.

This is following an agreement the governor said the state reached with the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC), recently.

Speaking at the International Conference Center in Awka during an event to commemorate his one year in office, the governor said: “We had a full brainstorming session with EEDC on power supply yesterday. Our goal is to provide Anambra’s major cities with steady light. We signed an agreement with EEDC on power transmission and distribution.”

At the event that also had former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former Governor, Mr Peter Obi, Wife of late Biafra hero, Iyom Bianca Ojukwu, among others, the governor said Anambra is expected to have 24hours electricity power supply within the next two years.

Recall that Soludo served both as Chief Economic Adviser and Governor of Central Bank under the former president Olusegun Obasanjo’s 1999-2007 administration.

Lauding the governor’s giant stride in his address, Obasanjo said Soludo remained the best adviser he ever had. He described him as someone he sees eligible for a national assignment beyond the current governorship position.

He reaffirmed his faith in Soludo to carry out all the developmental plans contained in his speech in the next three years thereby turning Anambra into a prosperous homeland.
