Solar-Powered Borehole Brings Relief to Nnobi Community

Residents of Ubaha Village, Nnobi, are set to enjoy improved access to a reliable source of clean water following the commissioning of a solar-powered borehole by the Mayor of Idemili South Local Government Area(LGA), Hon. Mrs. Amaka Obi (Iyom Ife-Abata).

The facility was commissioned on Sept 30, at Ubaha Village Hall by Mrs. Obi, alongside the Mayor elect, Hon. Oluchukwu Ilogbenu, with other community leaders and stakeholders in attendance.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs. Obi described the project as a direct investment in the wellbeing of residents, stressing that access to safe water is essential for healthy living, sanitation and a better quality of life.

She said the solar powered facility would provide a more dependable source for residents of Ubaha and neighbouring communities, while reducing the daily challenges associated with accessing the essential resource.

According to the mayor, the initiative reflects her administration’s focus on projects that respond to practical community needs and produce tangible benefits for residents.

She acknowledged the role of community leaders and stakeholders in supporting local development, noting that meaningful progress is strengthened when government and communities work together.

Residents of Ubaha expressed appreciation for the intervention, describing the facility as timely and significant to the wellbeing of the community.

The project adds to efforts to improve basic amenities and living conditions at the grassroots, while reinforcing the importance of community-focused development in Idemili South.
