Lockdown 2.0: What Every Resident Of Anambra, Enugu, Rivers And Lagos Should Know

The federal government has ordered the nationwide closure of recreational centers, clubs, bars, restaurants, this is to curb the spread of the COVID-19 in the country.

The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 had earlier warned that Nigeria might soon be entering the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

So in order to curb the spread, the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 imposed new guidelines that Nigerians must follow.

They shutdown schools till January 18, 2021. No social gathering of more than 50 people, recreational centers to remain shut till further notice.

As at 21 December, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control reported 78,434 cases, compare to 66,228 one month earlier on 21 November.

In this regard, every resident in Lagos, FCT, Enugu, Anambara, Imo, Abia & Rivers should note this;

1. The lockdown in these states isn’t definitely to spite Christians or stop them from celebrating Christmas, it’s a noble attempt to save the life citizens by the Federal Government.

2. As covid-19 cases has been recorded in Lagos, FCT, Enugu, Anambara, Imo, Abia & Rivers, Churches are not closed as it’s not a total lockdown however, church will only admit 50% of the usual capacity while strictly obeying social distancing guidelines.

3. If you are in these states, note that Christmas gatherings are not outside social gatherings and the guideline says the gathering shouldn’t be more than 50. In situations where it’s likely to be above that, it should be held outdoors and social distancing should be observed.

Nigerians shouldn’t misunderstood the reasons for the second lockdown for it’s clearly known that the federal government is doing this to protect the lives of residents from harm because, Death is inevitable but it’s well known that every living thing dies including humans, that’s why all of us should try to avoid things that can endanger or lives.

Please take precautions and help Nigeria government to fight against this deadly virus by maintaining all the preventive guidelines provided.
