CHS Awka Youth Week: Clergyman. Anaemena Asks Youths Fellowship To Depend On God Always

An Anglican Clergyman, Rev. Engr. Chijioke Anaemena, has insisted youths shall hold on to God for His mercies, blessings and guidance as mortal can fail when the ovation is loudest.

Rev.Engr. Anaemena spoke during the postponed Youth Sunday of the Church of The Holy Spirit Awka weekend. The youth Sunday was suspended sequel to the hosting of ADWOC 2026 at the church during Diocesan youth week and Sunday.

Speaking on the topic “Help from Above”, Rev.Engr. Anaemena charged worshippers to totally depend and rely on God as He is the source of everything and every form of help Christians need.

He warned that dependency on mortal man will fail, because man’s help comes with interest and only lasts when the going is right. adding that when Christians depend on God, He will raise men who cannot disappoint them.

He further encouraged parents to ensure that their youths are actively involved in the church youth fellowship, where they will be nurtured in the right direction to stand firm in this evil generation.

In his address, Engr. Chima Nwankwo, the Anglican Youths Fellowship Leader, Church of The Holy Spirit Awka in his youth Sunday message described the week as glorious as God has met with them powerfully.

According to him, “This week’s theme, “If God is for us” – Romans 8:31, reminds us that we are not alone. When God is for us, no opposition can stand. No fear, no delay, no limitation can stop what God has ordained for our lives.

He noted that through the teachings, prayers, worship, and fellowship throughout the youth week, God has strengthened their faith, renewed their purpose, and called them back to Himself — to live boldly for Him with conviction and excellence.

He charged youths to hold on to this truth: If God is for us, then we are more than conquerors. , asking the CHS Awka youths to go out knowing that the same God who began a good work in them will perfect it.
He thanked the vicar.
Ven. Dr. Onyeka Egwuonwu for his godly leadership and guidance and the CHS Awka Parish Youth Coordinator, Rev’d Canon Augustin Otiji for his tireless efforts in nurturing and empowering the CHS youth as well as all other clergymen in the parish for their dedication to the youths spiritual growth and for reminding them that no one can be against us when God is for us.

He thanked the Church and their patrons and patronesses for their love, support, and guidance and for standing with them under all circumstances.

Nine (9) past executives of AYF CHS Awka were honored for their selfless service even as Patrons and Patronesses were appreciated for their love, support, and guidance to the youth fellowship.

Some distinguished personalities were honoured including ACP NNAEMEKA NDIBE ,Mr. Chike Chibo Ekweanya, Engr. Dr. Obiora N. Eze and Mr. Obinike Arinze.

Others are Nnamdi Chukwuebuka Ikenna, Hon. Akaolisa Elochukwu, Dr. Tobias Enike, Engr. Tochukwu Okonkwo and Dr. Chika Okonkwo

List of patrons and patronesses including
Sir Dr Ilokanuno ,Sir Justice Anigbogu ,Mr Kenneth Ilodigwe, Sir Uche Umeokafor, Sir B C Umerah, Dr Raymond Ofor, Mr Izuchukwu Ude ,and Mrs Akunaebuni.
