CORRUPTION IS FIGHTING BACK BY MODESTUS UMENZEKWE

Mr. President had earlier said that Corruption if we don’t fight it effectively may fight back. I am not surprise on what happened at PDP Convention; and all the twelve aspirants were among the group that enjoyed the wealth of this Nation. When they failed to clinch that victory, one of their highest bidders won the whole toss and became the PDP Presidential Flag bearer for 2019 elections. Are you talking of Saraki or any other fellow in their midst or one of them who has a Golf Course in Ireland. So when you start seeing what is happening now and every others not mentioned you appreciate Mr. President’s assertion. Atiku Abubakar, every Nigeria knew his own official background when he served as a Custom Officer under the Command of Mr. Orji as Area Administrator Tincan Island or his services under his immediate boss of that Tincan Island Mr. Vincent Nwobi. It was when he was just a Custom Officer that they conferred him Turakin Adamawa about 1982 or 1983 along with Alhaji Bamangar Tukur. His services at Tincan Island Port Lagos was made possible by Lt. Col. but later Major-General Shehu Musa Yar’ adua. That was the origin and the beginning of PDM. That Turbaning at Yola with Bamangar Tukur was the first time we knew that an aircraft can be chattered by one man. His close relationship with former President Obasanjo predicated to Gen. Yar’ adua’s understanding with same Obasanjo because Shehu Musa Yar’ adua served under Obasanjo as Chief of Staff. It was in that attitude of flamboyancy while in office that attracted his relationship with Miss Jenifer Iwenjiorah who was NTA Reporter covering Ports Authority then who later got married to him and was named Jemila. So when he was until retired from Customs Service, he got saturated into oil business and association with Shehu Musa Yar’adua led his relationship with General Olusegun Obasanjo.

Obasanjo chose him to be his Vice President on account of Yar’adua’s intervention because Obasanjo never knew him. Obasanjo choosing him was an act of toleration not minding his corrupt background. All the time he was with Obasanjo in office, Obasanjo tried to impeach him which he used the court to stop.

For Obasanjo to have recanted his sworn oath that Atiku’s sins should not be forgiven and even wrote it in one of his books is much to be regretted. I think senility is fast building into Obasanjo and that alone has exposed the real author of that booklet; and the earlier Obasanjo is charged for plagiarism the better. Here is a man whose posturing is far more than his master, Gen Yakubu Gowon because without Gen. Gowon he will not have been posing this way he is doing now. His contemporaries in the Army will tell you Obasanjo is selfish and hypocritical. The moment you do not answer his call for certain offers you become an enemy. In 1983 or 1984 when he encouraged the overthrew of Shehu Shagari and Ekwueme administration, then I think the Minister of Finance at that time was Dr. Onolapo Soleye was introduced to Buhari as Obasanjo’s contribution for appointment. This time he requested for same appointment which Mr. President declined, Obasanjo turned against him and started castigating him (Buhari). All the people he had been dealing with is for selfish interest, but Buhari is a man of Honour; this time he refused his entreaties against him. See all the mentioned Generals who are in league of fighting Buhari are in fear that Buhari second term they may be called to disgorge the Nations huge sums of money they swallowed. With this nobody is surprised that the harder they come so harder they will scatter. No amount of intrigue or blackmail will make Mr. President to burge in his God’s given and protective time to protect Nigeria for the future of yet unborn. The amount of evil propaganda being mounted by corrupt evil elite will not change Mr. President to loose sight for the down traumatic trodden. The common traumatic down trodden are very happy for Mr. President’s efforts to save Nigeria from the strangle hold of the elite corrupt Nigerians. Even they have visited Mr. President’s domestic household to cause disaffection in order to wear him down, yet he did not burge. They went as far as creating confusion in the party primaries thinking they will have Mr. President’s attention and yet he did not burge.

Mr. President is the first in Black African world and advanced democracy to throw open the nomination of candidates for various elective offices using his own office as example. Today he has a wonderful listening Chairman of the party Comrade Adams Oshiomhole who is working in tandem with Mr. President. I bet the PDP to do the same thing which they cannot. Their present unsuccessful Presidential candidates is a thing the opposition should be afraid of with their hasty climbing Chairman who dances on both sides of the music sound. The implosion that may occur will sweep all of them away into oblivion. This may call for God’s mercy on their political souls.

Finally, I will use this medium to thank the first boss of Obasanjo, Gen. Gowon for tolerating that man who speaks on both sides of his mouth. Gen. Gowon’s pardon and that of Ikemba Nnewi Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu by Alhaji Shehu Shagari government was the real fundamental hate Obasanjo has for Shagari. Of all these what Mr. President is doing is to clear the old urgeans stable created by those mentioned Generals led by Obasanjo. These Generals were sent from Minna to Port Harcourt City, PDP Convention area to help spread dollars procured by them to the delegates. It is a pity.

Today, President Buhari has granted amnesty and restored official designation of Chief MKO Abiola’s position of GCFR Honour which Abiola’s brother and classmate former President Obasanjo could not do. Remember, Obasanjo was quoted as saying that Abiola is a messiah that he never knew.

I am pleading with the compassionate President Buhari to grant State pardon to General Oladipo Diya and others. Let him right the wrongs created by Obasanjo and his co-group of General. Future is the richest.
