A fresh corn dealer, Mrs Vivian Enem has lamented the high cost of fresh corns in the market sequel to the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the world.

Vivian who roasts corn at Okacha junction Neni, Anaocha local government area, said 50kg bag of corn which sells for N6,000 now sell for N7,500.

She said the same 50 kg bag was sold N3500 to N4500 last year.

She said that several bags of corns roasted across Anambra daily comes from Sokoto state and other parts of the North.

She informed that corn started coming from Sokoto and other parts of the North to Anambra state since January this year.

Vivian said they now sell one roasted corn N100 but two roasted corns for N150.

She informed that after buying charcoal for N2500 and other expenses, they don’t make much gains for the family upkeep , but he no choice than to continue making customers happy.

The father , Joseph Chukwu who was patronizing her as at the time of this interview colloborated her views on the cost of corns even as he said that as an Engineer since 1977 , he has never seen the worst scenerio like the COVID-19 era where for months no job.
