Call OCHA BRIGADE Boss, Anere To Order, Residents Of Onitsha Tell Soludo, Accuse Anere Of Witch-hunt, Corruption

Residents of the Onitsha, the commercial Hub of Anambra state have accused officers of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA BRIGADE), of doing witch-hunt job in the commercial City.

Some residents who spoke to newsmen after officials of the Agency, harrassed, intimidated and crushed peoples shops around the Bridge Head, close to the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), park Onitsha, called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to check the activities of the agency led by Mr. Celestine Anere.

A shop owner around the area, Mr. Ifeanyi Iwuchukwu who said that they support the administration of Governor Soludo in ensuring that Anambra state is transformed into aprosperous, mega and liveable homeland regretted that the OCHA BRIGADE boss, Mr. Anere who was once the Chairman of RTEAN Park and was subsequently sacked, now uses his new position to settle differences with his perceived enemies around the area.

Mr. Iwuchukwu appealed to Governor Soludo to set up and unbiased and independent Committee that will come to assess the activities of the agency around the Bridge Head Onitsha recently.

” How can they destroy peoples goods and shops with recklessness, even destroying shops that are not obstructing human and vehicular movements and was legally built?”, Mr. Iwuchukwu asked.

He said they the action of OCHA BRIGADE officers led by Anere is callous, wicked and witch-hunt, not minding the harsh economic situation in Nigeria, currently.

A woman, Mrs. Uju Odinuko whose who runs and a canteen and whose foods worth hundreds of thousands were thrown away, regretted that the Celestine Anere led OCHA BRIGADE, will soon sabotage the good intentions of the current administration in the state, and alleged that she borrowed money from a commercial bank before setting up the business.

” Where will I see money to repay the loan I got from bank, now that they have thrown everything away?, Mrs. Unu queried with tears.

On his part, Mr. Sunday Joseph who claimed that he hails from Delta state, accused the officers of the brigade of collecting bribes from some marketers, while others who failed to comply saw their shops demolished.

They unianimously called on Governor Soludo to call the overzealous Celestine Anere led OCHA BRIGADE to order before he jeopardizes his good intentions for Ndi Anambra through witch hunt job and bribery.
