Nigerians are showering encomiums on the president, for the salary increment he effected in the Military sector of country, some prominent Nigerians are also calling for the same act to be done to the Nigerian Police;one of them is the president of Igbo Ancient Kingdom Cultural Association, Mazi Samuel Donald Nwankwo.

He reiterated that the Military is important because we need them against external aggressors,to protect our sovereignty as a nation, but the police is needed more, because we need them in daily running of the country, to maintain law and order;their salaries need to be increased also in order to improve efficiency and make them more affective ,thereby reducing corruption in the sector.

He maintained that Nigerians can’t get the best from the police as long as the government keep paying them peanuts “have you ever been to the police Barracks?you will know that the police are really suffering, they’re deficient in almost everything, the president need to really consider the welfare of the police by increasing their salaries and other benefits because they’ve got families too like to military and we’re all in this hardship and austerity together”
