Gentlemen of the press

Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen.

On behalf of Dr. Clem Nwogbo, Group Chairman of M-P Infrastructure Ltd, I am glad to welcome you all to this important milestone event, the signing of contract for the N1.747B (One Billion, Seven Hundred and Forty Seven Million Naira only) construction of 2nd phase of roads within Awka Millennium City, the brand new smart city being developed in the heart of Awka, the capital of Anambra state.

Since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with the Anambra state government on Tuesday, June 19, 2019, a little over a year ago, we are proud with the progress of work on site despite the challenges which the world has faced in 2020 with COVID-19, and also the economic downturn which has now led to a recession in the last quarter of 2020.

If you look around, you will see that work has steadily progressed. We make bold to say that we are on course to achieving the vision of His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, Governor of Anambra state, the Anambra state government and our vision to build a world class smart city in Awka, comparable to what is obtainable in similar cities in Lagos, Abuja, Europe and America etc.

Our commitment to our subscribers and other stakeholders to deliver the project on time remains unshaken. Even with the challenges I earlier mentioned, we have remained on site working night and day, producing precast drainage and stockpiling thousands of tonnes of earth materials for the great dry season push.

We are about completing 1.9 kilometres of world class dual carriage roads. Have completed the construction of covered drainages and walkways. The TCN Access Road, AMC Avenue and AMC Boulevard have also all nearly been completed, and in record time of 3 months.

In the next week, we would have completed a total of over 2.34km of dual carriage road at a total investment cost of N1.32B.

Our continued commitment to providing world class infrastructure in Awka Millennium City has brought us here today.
We are delighted that you all could join us to witness the official contract signing ceremony for the N1.747B construction of 2nd phase of internal roads in the estate totalling 5.81 kilometres. The contract will be delivered in 9 months.

Our preferred contractors, Sagez Nigeria Ltd have proven track record of timely delivery of world class roads and other infrastructural projects across Nigeria. We are confident that they would deliver on this, and on time.

We would like to also update our subscribers and stakeholders of other developments as regards progress of work at Awka Millennium City.

I am happy to announce that we we have started the N2.7B investment in estate utility services, procurement process for water Infrastructure equipment, water tanks, treatment plants, pipes and pumps.

We are also procuring underground power equipment, cables, substations, transformers, switchgear and other utility infrastructure.

We have approval of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) for a dedicated 32kv line from the Agu Awka Substation for AMC to ensure regular power supply to the estate.

All these activities show firm commitment to delivering timely a world class estate, such as never before seen in the South East of Nigeria.

To conclude, I will like to thank once again the various AMC subscribers that kept faith with us slightly over a year ago, when we started the project as a thick forest but still subscribed to the Awka Milenium City vision, and wish to reassure them that as promised then, we are quite on course to delivering timely on the project.

And to those that have not, this is a good opportunity to remind them that investing in Awka Millennium City provides the perfect safe platform for ‘Aku anyi ilu Uno’.

This is the time to get in before secondary market sales kick in, by which time the subscription prices would have doubled or even tripled.

Thank you all for coming and may God continue to bless Anambra State, Amen.
