The imbroglio in Nawfia community, Njikoka local Government Area of Anambra State over traditional stool has continued to linger with the embattled monarch, Igwe Chijioke NWANKWO insisting that he is still the authentic traditional ruler of the community.

The monarch in a statement he signed on Tuesday, however warned those laying claim to the traditional stool to stir clear and respect court judgement.

Igwe Nwankwo was among the traditional rulers that were suspended by the former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano for traveling out of the state with the oil mogul, Chief Engr. Arthur Eze.

While others were pardoned, Igwe Chijioke Nwankwo’s certificate of recognition was withdrawn while Dr. Shadrach Moguluwa was elected in March 26, 2021 by the town’s president General.

Igwe Nwankwo went to court to seek redress and on June 26, 2022 the court ruled in his favour.

In his press statement made available to journalists, Igwe Chijioke Nwankwo said he remained the traditional ruler of Nawfia and warned those parading themselves as Nawfia monarch and cabinet members to stop forthwith and obey court order.

He argued that since no one appealed the judgement, that the status quo remains and warned that anybody seen parading as the town’s monarch will be dealt with.

“Nawfia have only one traditional ruler and that is HRH IGWE CHIJIOKE NWANKWO pursuant to the ruling of Awka High Court on 21st day of June, 2022.

“There is absolutely no Legal appeal filed. Any body purporting to be or to represent the traditional ruler of Nawfia is formatting trouble and will be dealt with accordingly and any effort to subvert the wheel of Justice is also been monitored” he stated.
