A worthy friend celebrates- by Timson Anikpe

Odogwu Emeka Odogwu PhD. You are a clear definition of true friendship. A friend turned brother. You are a dogged man who makes great things out of nothing. Your industry knows no bounds. Whatever your golden hands touch turns to gold. Your sincerity is quite commendable. 

You demonstrated right from our days in school that you were destined for the top and that you were ever ready to climb to the zenith. You were never afraid to make mistakes and be corrected.

You never cared about side talks or how people felt so long as your gained the knowledge you sought. You gave the lecturers some quality homework to do as regards getting prepared before they entered the class. To some of them, Odogwu was a pin in the neck. Yet to others you were one of the best to have in class. Today Odogwu cannot be described ordinarily, or in Ikem Nwosu’s voice as an ‘also man’. It’s simply not possible.

You have paid your dues bro, and you are reaping the fruits therein. I put a phone call across to this academic luminary that I was in Awka, and soon he drove to my location and made sure I was well pampered. Same hospitality he has been extending to quite a number of us here even at the slightest notice. Odogwu always finds time in his crowded engagements to felicitate, celebrate and maintain the camaraderie with anyone he calls friends – and surely there is quite a plethora of us. 

A loving husband to a very beautiful lady, and a caring father to the children, no politician or high flyer in the eastern region and indeed Nigeria will dare enter the dark page of Odogwu’s book else they risk going into oblivion. O welu pen detuo ya. 

I join your family and family all over to celebrate you today brother.
