Woman drags son’s friend to court for allegedly selling her room
A 58-year-old woman, Amina Musa on Tuesday dragged Ayuba Ibrahim, her son’s friend before a Shari’a court sitting at Rigasa, Kaduna for allegedly selling one of her rooms.
The complainant, who resides in Karshen-Kwalta, Rigasa area stated that she asked a loan of N130,000 from the defendant to defray some bills at home.
“He told me he can’t give me the loan but would ask one of his friends to give loan me the money.
” I told him that I would give one of my rooms as collateral.
“They requested I sell the room to them but I declined. So they gave me N180,000 on the condition that I pay the loan after three months”,she said.
She explained that she was not able to get the full amount of the money and notified the defendant about her situation before the three months elapsed.
She said that the defendant sold the room without consulting her.
On his part,the defendant said that the complainant failed to pay the loan ar the stipulated time and had agreed to give out the room as loan repayment.
The judge Malam, Salisu Abubakar-Tureta adjourned the matter until June 23 for the complainant to present her witnesses.(NAN)
