2023 Ogbaru Federal Constituency: Hon. Awogu pledges ‘Issue Based’ representation

The flag-bearer of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for Ogbaru Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Arinzechukwu Awogu has stated that his quest to represent the good people of Ogbaru would be based on issues concerning the people.

Hon. Awogu made the assertion while receiving his certificate of return and INEC Form EC9 at the party’s national Headquarters,  Abuja.

Accompanied by the Ogbaru stakeholders residing in Abuja, Awogu noted that he was humbled by the support from the people of his constituency.

“I stand humbled and inspired by the events of today wherein I received alongside other candidates, my Certificate of Return from my party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), as its flag bearer for House of Representatives, Ogbaru Federal Constituency in the 2023 general elections. 

“I am truly humbled by the fact that the journey to putting smiles on the faces of hundreds of thousands of Ogbaru people and residents alike has started in earnest.

“I take pride in engaging in robust discuss on issues about the Ogbaru situation.

“I have in the last few months, taken retrospective look at the Ogbaru situation and I said to myself that there is no better time to bring to fruition the thoughts about fixing Ogbaru and setting her on the path of accelerated progress and development than now. Even more so, now that we have a governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, that has taken Ogbaru as his focal local government area of interest. 

“My campaign will be issue based. I want to talk about road infrastructure in Ogbaru, where construction of new roads and fixing of the existing ones will be a priority through constituency projects and other contingencies that could be accessed.

“I want to talk about healthcare; access to it and its availablity. I want to talk about the water erosion ravaging the Ogbaru coastline and plethora of options open to both the state and federal government to explore in saving the Ogbaru land-space.

” I want to talk about low male enrollment in school that is posing a huge threat of raising a generation of illiterate and school dropouts in Ogbaru. I want to talk about simple routes to reducing, if not, ending drug related vices and its offshoots. 

“I want to talk about the leap a modular refinery in (Ogwu) will do to the living standards of the people as oil bearing and impacted communities. Issues of agro-based and cottage industries and other job creating establishments in Ogbaru and what they would do to our army of unemployed youths.

“I want to talk about the many low hanging fruits that are open and should be enjoyed by Umu-Ogbahu. I want to talk about projects that will create jobs in Ogbaru and the chances of securing federal employment opportunities for Ogbaru people which should be of right.

“My office will simply be a rendezvous of contact-networking for the upliftment of the Ogbaru person and ensuring that a lot of Ogbaru people have employment access to Federal jobs as opportunity presents itself. My record in getting jobs for Ogbaru people even as a TC Chairman is one perfect testimony”.

Hon. Awogu further said that wealth creating opportunities would be unlocked through his representation and pointed out that “poverty in Ogbaru is one malady he  wants to fight by creating access (on household to household basis) to opportunities hitherto unknown to Ogbaru families.

He pledged to focus on the family as the fulcrum of the society. “If the individual families gets right,  it would permeate the society.”

Hon. Awogu, a former Senior Special Assistant to former  Gov. Willie Obiano on Political Matters equally assured Ndi Ogbaru that he would fight for every Ogbaru vote by constructively engaging every Ogbaru voter and called on believers of paradigm shift to support and vote for him in the coming election.
