Why Obiano’s Successor Must Be An Anglican, says Anglican Bishop

Bishop of Aguata, RT Revd. Dr. Samuel Chukwudi Ezeofor has insisted that it is the turn of a member of the Anglican Communion to be the Governor Anambra state.
The Eloquent Bishop made this known at the Closing ceremony of the 5th Synod, which was held in Aguata at St James Anglican Church, Uga, on the 5th of May 2019.
It was reported that RT Revd Dr. Samuel Chukwudi accused the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, of allegedly working against the general interest of Ndi Igbo by campaigning for President Buhari at the last Presidential election.
Rt Revd Samuel, who insisted that it was the turn of Anambra South to occupy the number 1 seat of Anambra State, also insisted that for fairness, a member of the Anglican Communion ought to be the next Governor of Anambra State after Chief Willie Obiano.
Speaking, he said, “Through Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju, the Pentecostal branch of the Church has had a four-year slot in the governorship of the state. Through Ngige, Obi, and Obiano, the Roman Catholic has had an eighteen-year slot in the governorship of the state. Where should the next Governor of the State come from? The Anglican Church.”
“This is fair play, equity, and justice. This must be said in the public domain and proclaimed from the housetop. The present government should take note of this and the political parties as well.” He said.
He also reminded the members of the Anglican Communion that Power is not given , Rather it is taken.
“Having made that point, we however want to remind Anglicans in Anambra State that power is taken and not given. We have all it takes to take power come next dispensation. There is no reason why it should not happen. The only reason is if we fail to see it and work for it. The clergy and laity of our province should take note of this”.
