Odogwublog writes that Sunday, May 5th, 2019 was agog at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Awka , Awka South council area, Anambra State when friends, well-wishers and family members thronged in solidarity at the Special Thanksgiving Service of Barr. Philomena Iwara Okoye for her appointment as the Registrar, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

Evangelist Dr Godsent Obijulu delivered the sermon at Church of Holy Spirit, Awka inside Paul University. He illustrated the efficacy of faith as Abraham and wife showed and the need for Christians to be thankful to God no matter the situation and as well entrust their lives on God at all times.
In his remarks, the Vicar of the Church of Holy Spirit, Awka, Reverend Canon Dr Rex Kanu charged Barr Okoye to continue to entrust her live on God as her promotion came as a result of God’s blessings and not because of money she threw around of the people she knew, but God.
The Church service and reception at Hollywood Garden and Event Center near Government House Awka were filled with Professors and who is who in the University and society.
Barr Okoye, a lawyer was appointed the 6th Substantive Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council of the University by the Governing Council on 5th April, 2019 and before her appointment she was the Deputy Registrar in charge of Council matters. She has since 8th April, 2019 resumed duties.

She studied Law at University of Lagos and had her LL.B in 1988 and went to Nigerian Law School, Lagos were she got her B.L 1998. She joined Unizik in 1999 as an Admin Officer. She has held several positions including Deputy Chief Legal Officer and Acting Registrar of the University before her appointment.
Barr. Philomena Iwara Okoye was born in 1963, hails from Cross River state but married to Anambra state and Nri to be precise, has 5 children and Her husband is late.
