We Are Backing No Candidate, Will Back Anambra Election With Prayers – PFN

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Anambra State chapter has declared that it has not endorsed any candidate in the November 6, Governorship election but will back the election with prayers.

The fellowship, however, said that it has mobilized its members to acquire voter’s cards to go out to vote on election day. 

In a press conference addressed by its state chairman, Bishop Moses Ezedebego with other leaders in Awka, Anambra state capital on Tuesday, the group said all it wanted was to elect a God-fearing leader a man of impeccable character.

It called on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to be impartial and provide a level praying ground.

Ezedebego said: “Anambra needs a good manager of resources, a man of impeccable character and humanity. 

“We need a governor for everybody; someone that will carry everybody along. We are praying for the right candidate to take over Anambra State on Nov. 6, 2021”.

It urged INEC to resist rigging and also urged youths of Anambra State to avoid rigging warning that money made from rigging is “blood money”.

“The INEC must resist the temptation of being used by anyone to rig the election. We are calling on all the voters to guard their voters after voting and resist any form of rigging in the coming election.

“Any money gotten to rig election is a blood money and will bring generational curses to the people involved”, he declared. 

He advised the candidates to do their campaign without violence. “Let it be an issue-based campaign since it is not a do or die affair.”

Ezedebego said that the body will organise a Prayer rally on Friday,  September 17 “to showcase and strengthen the unity of the body of Christ, pray for the nation and the coming election in the state”.

The prayer session will be led by the National President of PFN, Bishop Francis Waleoke and to be attended by top leaders of the National Executive of PFN, he said.

It asked Anambra people to attend the prayer because they will be praying especially for the people of the State, the coming election, and the nation.

He commended Governor Willie Obiano for purposeful leadership of the State.
