Upon my first publication on how the Peoples Democratic Party, Anambra state gubernatorial hopeful, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo would make the Light of the Nation, the enviable investment destination in Nigeria I was glad that Ndi Anambra are enormously buying into the project.
Someone even wrote via my inbox that he has read of Ozigbo’s achievements as Transcorp Boss, hence he believes that Anambra would experience same by rallying in support for the Amesi-born businessman.
Speaking recently with members of the fourth estate, Ozigbo stated that, he would justify whatever confidence the people of Anambra deemed necessary to repose in him.
Ozigbo, whom many are not in doubt of his magic touch would provide people-oriented and focused governance to ensure a robust local economy that would increase economic growth and prosperity in the state with his tailored economic-development policies. The truth is, creation of value-adding jobs, wealth and poverty reduction will not entirely be the responsibility of the government, hence “Ka Anambra Chawapu” crooner would build a winning team: To encourage integration of local and foreign investors into a healthy competitive supply-chain networks. Reduce restrictions on investors and restore transparency in governance.
On the Ease of Doing Business (EODB)
The failed largest facility project of AB InBev company in Anambra state is a pointer, that amongst where we need continous improvement, is on the ease of doing business. The benefits of EODB are obvious that no investor both local and foreign would appreciate to risk resources in a hostile business environment.
Last year, the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), with score of 53.50, Anambra ranked 3rd in South East below Enugu and Abia state.
EODB parameters such as seamless to get certificate of Occupancy (C of O), registration of property, best practice, et al, are the basis for a more conducive environment to the starting and operation of businesses in the state, Ozigbo revealed.
The leading PDP aspirant will make Anambra the best choice destination, and It is thus reason he said, “I believe that what Anambra has missed, they have found in me.”
