The Federal Capital Territory is set to host one of the largest gatherings of women stakeholders in recent times as Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, leads a landmark mobilisation and empowerment programme expected to draw over 20,000 women from across the country.
The high-profile event, tagged the Women Stakeholders’ Mobilisation and Empowerment Pre-Inaugural Roll-Out Programme, is organised under the 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council, Women Mobilisation Directorate.
It is scheduled to hold on Monday, October 5, 2026, by 8:00 a.m at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre (BATICC), Abuja.
The Pre-Inaugural Campaign Roll-Out 2027, with the theme “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity,” is designed as a platform for political mobilisation as well as a strategic forum for engagement, empowerment and strengthening women’s participation in Nigeria’s democratic process.
The gathering is convened by Senator Oluremi Tinubu and is anchored on the Tinubu-Shettima 2027 campaign platform, with the rallying slogan “One Voice, One Movement, One Choice, One Mandate 2027” as its central message.
According to Hon. Princess Gloria Akobundu, PhD, a member of the Planning Committee, the programme will serve as a major convergence point for women from different parts of the country, creating space for stakeholders to connect, engage meaningfully and deepen their involvement in the forthcoming political process.
Akobundu said the gathering will underscore the critical role of Nigerian women as key stakeholders in both national development and political participation. She noted that it is also aimed at promoting greater coordination among women leaders and grassroots structures to ensure the mobilisation effort is broad-based, organised and effective.
The event is expected to feature women leaders, community representatives, political stakeholders and grassroots mobilisers. Discussions will centre on strategies for mobilisation, empowerment, grassroots engagement and the broader vision of the Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0.
Princess Akobundu stated that the focus is on translating ongoing reforms into tangible prosperity while ensuring women remain at the heart of the national conversation.
She further stated that the programme is being positioned as an empowerment platform to inspire, equip and organise thousands of women to play more active and coordinated roles ahead of the 2027 general elections. The emphasis on participation, organisation and grassroots engagement reflects a deliberate effort to build a strong, unified women’s mobilisation structure.
The atmosphere in the Federal Capital is already charged with anticipation, with many describing the gathering as the “mother of all empowerment” programmes for Nigerian women in the lead-up to 2027.
