Covid-19 : Over 250 Market Women get Palliative from United Traders Association

Over two hundred and fifty women have so far been empowered by the United Traders Association in Anambra State since the Advent of COVID-19 pandemic in the area.

A break down of the number include, widows, Co ordinators , woman leaders of the markets and some selected less previlaged members.

Also the association in the next two months would be visiting destitute and motherless baby’s homes in a bid to fighting hunger in the area.

According to the President and Founder of the Non governmental Organization Mrs Nkiru Duru who disclosed this at the thanking Mass at Blessed Iwene Tansi parish Catholic Church Umudioka in Dunikofia local government area of Anambra State. “We have so far empowered over 250 members including widows since the lockdown and have also connected all market women in the south East geopolitical zone and 250 women which include woman leaders and Coordinators were assisted with Covid-19 palliative as a way to fight hunger and food scarcity during the pandemic”

“By next month we shall be reaching out to you destitute homes at least one per each market in the south East.

According to Duru, the aims and objectives of the association include to enhance the welfare of members, ensure the relevance of market women in the society as well as reducing stress in business life through it’s social activities .

Also speaking the spiritual Director of Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry Ukeh, Rev . Father Emmanuel Obimma (Ebube muonso) challenged the Association an unbrelar of market women to use the organization to harvest souls for God.

Father Obimma who is also Spiritual Director of the Association urged the women to emulate Christ by living in unity and tolerance as well as being steadfast in their prayer life.

According to him” Prayer is the key to success, Jesus started with prayer and ended with prayer, so let them emulate the life of Jesus Christ that is the life of prayer.

“Also Unity and peace are very important, wherever there is peace, the glory of God abounds. As their spiritual Director I am charging them to embrace love for anything built on love must surely last, Ebube muonso added.
