Unbelievable! How childless teacher planned abduction of 5-year old girl in Awka

A childless school teacher has been arrested over involvement in alleged abduction of a 5-year old girl in Awka, Awka South local government area of Anambra state.

The victim, a primary school pupil identified simply as Mercy was reportedly kidnapped from her school in Awka in November last year.

The suspect, a retired teacher, said to have been childless after several years of marriage, claimed to have adopted the child from the motherless babies home while she lived in Ogidi area of the state.

It was further gathered that the suspect had been living with the child in the area before she later relocated to Okpuno, a community in Awka North Local Government Area of the state where luck ran out of her.

A source from the police said she was going to church with the victim that fateful Sunday when a friend to the victim’s family sighted the victim and raised the alarm which led to her rescue and the arrest of the suspect.

“The woman is currently at the Central Police Station, Awka providing us with useful information, while the victim had since been re-united with her family.

“The woman said she adopted the baby from a motherless babies home after paying the sum of N2million. But we are carrying out thorough investigation into the matter,” the source said.

Meanwhile, it was celebration galore for the family of the victim when the news of her discovery got to them.

Her mother, identified as Mummy Mercy, had accosted the teachers as well as the security guard in the school after waiting for the daughter’s return.

She was said to have lodged the matter at the police station after the teachers and the security guard feigned ignorance of the daughter’s whereabouts.

The woman was also said to have visited several prayer houses in desperate search for the solution to the return of the daughter until providence however smiled at her that fateful Sunday.
