Nnamdi Azikiwe University hails the appointment of Dr Nelson Omenugha as the Special Adviser to Governor Soludo on Youth Empowerment Programme

Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka has hailed the appointment of Dr Nelson Omenugha as the Special Adviser to Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR on Youth Empowerment Programme.

In a letter signed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Charles Okechukwu Esimone, the University congratulates Dr Omenugha and expressed apparent absolute confidence on his capacity to deliver on job and support Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR to deliver a prosperous and liveable homeland.

In part, the letter read; “I bring you greetings from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Community, on whose behalf, I hereby formally congratulate you on your recent appointment as Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Empowerment Programme in the Executive Council of Anambra State.

“Your outstanding performance in the University workforce, prior to this appointment, couple with your easily discernible commitment to public service in Anambra State and beyond must have earned you this appointment.”

The message concludes with Prof Esimone conveying the assurances of his warm regards.

It would be recalled that Nelson graduated top of his class in his undergraduate studies, Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Mass Communication from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, winning the 2011/12 Vice Chancellor Best Student Merit Award of the Department.

As an undergraduate student at the University, he was an active participant in the students’ union.

Remarkably, at the age of 19 and in his second year of study (2009/2010 academic session), Nelson was elected President of the Students’ Union Government, where he led over 33,000 students.

He was the youngest, first-ever second year student to be elected the President of the Students’ Union Government in the university.

Until his recent appointment by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, Nelson lectures in Department of Mass Communication and serves the university at various committees of the department and faculty of social sciences.
