Unizik Female Students Should Step Up To lead

SHE LEADS event, organised by the office Vice President of the Student Union Government (SUG); Judith Chinememma brought together students, the and Sub Dean of Students Affairs; Kingsley Ugboji, Prof. Lillian Orugbu, Senator Victor Umeh and other dignitaries on Wednesday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Auditorium, Awka.
, Senator Lillian Orugbu in her remarks reflected on her personal journey, ‘If I had jumped from one boy to another, I would not be where I am today’ She used the statement to emphasize discipline and focus in life choices.
Furthermore, she also spoke on political participation and civic responsibility ahead of elections and urged citizens to refrain from bribe, ‘i would drag supporters of the APC (All Progressive Congress) Political Party, as a citizen eligible to participate in franchise but refuse to get a Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) should be ashamed, because Voters registration ends on 10th July. As for those who collect money on election day and still vote for leaders you are perpetuating evil and will face moral judgment’
The Sub-Dean, Students Affairs; Dr. Apiti Anthony in a session he titled igniting leadership encouraged students to embrace leadership, confidence, and economic empowerment. He explained that leadership is not about position, but about taking responsibility and solving problems and encouraged students to volunteer, speak up,develop themselves, and add more female leaders to the world who add value.
‘I will give you tips you will use which i call The Three Firewood, leadership, confidence, and economic empowerment, as students should not wait to be chosen you can lead wherever you are, be confident, be prepared, so as to have economic power classified as degree plus hustle. If your espace out is to marry a rich man, cancel it because it makes you indirectly disrespected by men in the society’
A senator representing Anambra central; Senator Dr. Victor Umeh who was represented by his Personal Assistant Engr. Charles Ifeanyi Obi,encouraged females to be financially independent and to lead everywhere they are found.
Similarly, the Managing Director of Cash Oil and Gas; Engr. Stephen Obiora Okafor,encouraged participants to stay focused, avoid distractions, and strive for excellence. He also commended the SUG Vice President for her commitment to impacting lives.
Awards were presented to guests in recognition of their immense contribution to student participation, Legislative achievements and engagement, while attendees were also encouraged throughout the event.
Onyinyechi Gifted a 200 level student of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University in her remarks ‘ i quite agree with the speech of the sub dean as marrying a rich man as a woman who is poor is as equal to slavery and i would encourage any female to bag a degree plus skill which would set them apart
