The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 13, Ukpo, AIG Miller Gajere Dantawye, psc, on September 11, reviewed security operations at the Anambra State Police Command.

During the operational briefing, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command,
CP Nnanna Oji Ama, psc, MNIPS, presented the Command’s one-month operational scorecard, highlighting achievements recorded.

CP Nnanna disclosed that the Command rescued three kidnapped victims and arrested 57 suspects linked to kidnapping, armed robbery, cult-related violence, murder and other serious offences.

He further revealed that 18 assorted firearms and 43 rounds of ammunition were recovered, while a criminal camp was destroyed, disrupting criminal activities across the State.

The Commissioner attributed the achievements to intelligence-led policing, strategic deployment, coordinated tactical operations and sustained pressure on criminal networks by police formations, alongside sister security agencies.

He assured that the Command would sustain its offensive against criminal elements through intelligence gathering, aggressive patrols, rapid response, targeted operations and continuous disruption of criminal hideouts.

Commending the Command’s achievements, AIG Dantawye urged officers and men to sustain the momentum through discipline, professionalism, courage, effective supervision and strict adherence to the rule of law.

The AIG also directed personnel to strengthen intelligence networks, deepen community engagement and intensify operations against kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, drug-related offences and other violent crimes.

He urged personnel to maintain respectful public engagement, stressing that community cooperation remains vital to effective policing, while the Command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives, property and public order.
