UNIZIK DVC Administration, Prof Ikechebelu Bags Honorary Award

Honorary award of honour of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International has been bestowed on the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Prof Joseph I. Ikechebelu, www. odogwublog.com reports.

The award on the erudite Professor was by the Royal Awka Chapter of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International. It was bestowed on Prof Ikechebelu last weekend during a strategic breakfast outreach organized in his honour.

The event whichrr took place at the Chicotel Hotels and Suites, Awka, Anambra State, came barely three years after Professor Okechukwu Esimone, now UNIZIK Vice Chancellor, was honoured by the fellowship.

Speaking at the banquet, the Chapter President of the FGBMFI, Royal Chapter, Engr Christian Onwubalili, said the strategic outreach was to recognize and honour their member who he said had contributed greatly to society.

“By doing this we encourage people to impart on lives in the society. So that they will know that their labour to humanity is not in vain.”

He stated that Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International is a global movement of Lay Christian Professionals founded in 1951 with the objective of bringing together Men and Women to pray for the well-being of mankind.

According to him, the Vision of the FGBMFI is to reach out and bring back the ordinary, middle level and high level Businessmen and women again unto Jesus Christ. He opined that, the Fellowship comprises of prominent business men and Women with integrity who desired to give all the glory to God through their services to humanity.

Overwhelmed by the honour, Prof Ikechebelu thanked the FGBMFI Awka Chapter but insisted that the greatest achievement was being where he is because of God

Ikechebelu, a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, said he achieved everything in his life because God touched his life and used him as an instrument in his hand. He enjoined Christians to allow God to touch and take over their lives.

While he charged the fellowship members not to miss an encounter with Christ, he disclosed that the two greatest things that had happened in his life was his encounter with Christ and getting married to his beautiful wife.

He challenged Christians to be steadfast in serving God so that God will moderate their lives. He challenged them to maintain their integrity and remember that God in their life is an answer to all problems.

Earlier, while preaching through testimony sharing, Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof Charles Esimone, said that Man must abide by the word of God to be considered honorable before God.

Prof Esimone who drew his sermon from Psalm 49: 12 & 20 decried that man often ascribe honor to worldly wisdom, power and riches. He said that there is wanton quest for worldly honour among the Christian fold, hence the neglect for that which God considered honor to man.

Prof Esimone explained that God did not create man in the same category as beasts hence ,He created man in his own image. He stressed that wisdom has made men to forget that they are still creatures of God reminding them that wisdom that does not glorify God is worst than a Beast.

According to Esimone, it is dangerous for people to believe in dead religion, he urged the people to run away from religions that do not glorify God. He also advised Christians to abide in Jesus Christ stating that Christians must know the word of God before the spirit of God will abide in them.

In his testimony, a Hospital Administrator, Richmond Okechukwu Achugbu, narrated how his desire to make quick money led him into doing different illegal things in his early life but the intervention of Christ in him turned his life around.
