Umahi Sets April Deadline for RCC to Complete Port Harcourt Carriageway

Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, has directed Messrs Reynolds Construction Company (RCC) to complete the East-West Road Section III (Eleme Junction – Onne Junction) by April 2025. During an inspection of projects in the South East and South South zones, Umahi warned contractors against delays, stating that underperformance could lead to contract termination. He commended RCC’s work quality but emphasized the need for faster progress. The Minister also visited other ongoing projects, including the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, Bodo-Bonny Road, and Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, urging contractors to increase resources to meet deadlines. He stressed President Tinubu’s commitment to infrastructure development under the Renewed Hope Agenda and announced stricter monitoring to ensure timely project completion.
