Ukopi Improvement Union Onitsha Branch Marks Year End In A Grand Style

It was indeed a merriment galour when the Onitsha branch members of Ukopi Improvement Union (U.I.U), Ekwegbe in Igbo Etiti LGA, Enugu State  joyful converged en mass and celebrated end year meeting in a grand style.

The event which was believed to be the best of it’s kind took place at Nando Town Hall along Modebe Avenue, Onitsha Anambra State attracted virtually the presence of all the members of Ukopi Improvement Union residing in Onitsha and it’s environ.

Preaching the words of God, a guest speaker, brother James Ozota stated that Christmas is a merriment to commemorate when God sent His only begotten Son on Earth to save the whole world, saying that Jesus Christ came to the Earth 2000 years ago.

” Celebrating Christmas is not only eating and drinking, but a period to prepare ourselves spiritually against attack of the enemies. Many people are celebrating Christmas but they don’t know what they are celebrating. If you are a Catholic, prepare yourself spiritually by attending confession. 

He warned members of Ukopi against drinking excess alcohol, bogus expenditure and quick acquisition of wealth in other to meet up for the Christmas celebration.

He concluded by urging parents to monitor their Children closely especially females to ensure that they do not fall in the hands of ritualists, just as he prayed  fervently for all the members for the God’s guidance and protection in this Christmas season.

Commenting, a member of the Union, Sir. Chiduabo Kingsley Esq expressed his gratitude to the Executives of the Union led by Osita Emmanuel Awoke, lauding them for their sound leadership and brilliant coordinations.

He passionately implored the executives to include charity outreach to some orphanage homes and indigents ones as part of next year’s get together celebration.

The Managing solicitor at Chiduabo, Chiduabo and Associate, Onitsha Anambra State profoundly emphasized that almsgiving contributes to the secret of success in human life.

A philanthropist and member of prestigious Knights of the Church further suggested that executives should as well introduce attractive event in the monthly meeting which he said could induce members to be regular and punctual during meetings, mentioning Business seminar, Health seminar, Business promotion and skills acquisition. 

Barrister K. K as he fondly called also dwelt extensively on motivational talk during which he urged the people of Ukopi to develop the ability to save their resources, pointing out that it is one of the ways to succeed in life.

” Nobody was created to be poor. Poor is a thing of heart. Saving money conquer poverty and make expenditures easier for you. Stop blaming anyone around you for your failure to succeed. Let us emulate Anambra people by aiming high. Embarked on business innovation and business seminars. Let us also be generous. Help someone who you are better off. Avoid pomposity. Remember, human beings is nothing but dust” Said Sir. K. K.

The legal luminary therefore advised members to ensure that they pay for their shops, residential house and save money for the school fees of their Children before they plan to go to village for the Christmas.

Similarly, the Patron of the Union, Chief Benjamin Agbo aligned with Sir. K. K’s motivational speech, lamenting high level of poverty in Ukopi which according to him caused by the inability of the Ukopi elites to direct the youths properly.

Benji encouraged youths to continue to strive hard to their best ability in other to succeed in life, even as he decried incessant crime against the law of land in Ukopi.

He disclosed that so many atrocities are being committed and abominations have become norms, calling on the elders in Ukopi to expedite action to investigate those who are committing incest, adultery, steeling kola nut, yam amongst other heionus crimes in the community.  

Speaking shortly after the event, the Chairman of the Union, Awoke Emmanuel Osita expressed gratitude to God, stating that the event went successfully and peacefully.

He affirmed that his regime has performed well, saying that only God knows their effort towards the progress of the Union, just as he mentioned that they have consolidated the affairs of the Union by strengthening their oneness, able to speak with one voice and procured forty seats.

The Chairman noted that his regime still have more things to provide for the Union, revealing that special grace of God is his source of strength and inspiration to pilot the affairs of the Union.

” Before I got to meeting, I always visit chapel so that Holy spirit would guide me. I always pray that God would give me the confidence He gave to Moses. And I believe that Holy spirit directs me” Said Ossy Awoke.
