Three people abducted in Auchi, Edo State, in June have been released after paying a total ransom of N75 million.

One victim was initially seized, but two others sent to deliver an agreed N30 million ransom were also kidnapped, prompting the abductors to demand an additional N45 million. The victims were freed on August 11 after community members raised the funds. The kidnappers allegedly claimed to have local informants.
