The Anglican Church was thrown into mourning following the death of a senior clergy in the Diocese on the Niger, Late Ven. Dr. Oswald Chinedu Ezekwere (JP).

His burial ceremony attracted The Rt. Rev. Dr. Owen Chiedozie Nwokolo(JP) who presided over the burial service.

As well, The Rt. Rev. Prof. Israel Okoye (Bishop, Diocese of Ihiala) and The Rt. Rev. Ndubuisi Obi (Bishop, Diocese of Nnewi) were also at the burial ceremony. Bishop of Ihiala assisted Bishop on the Niger.

The Diocesan praised the deceased, a senior clergy of the Diocese on the Niger, for his contributions to the growth and expansion of the diocese.

In his sermon, “Death, is it a friend or an enemy?”, Bishop Nwokolo emphasized that for those in Christ, death is not an enemy, but a transition to gain.

“To be in Christ is gain, to die in Him is equally gain,” he said. The congregation was encouraged to live their lives in Christ, as death doesn’t diminish their investments in Him.

The Diocesan extended his heartfelt condolences to the Ezekwere family, praying for God’s comfort and strength in their loss. Until his passing, Late Ven. Dr. Oswald Chinedu Ezekwere served as a clergy in the Diocese on the Niger.
