Soludo Spearheads Send-Forth For Retiring Anambra Police Commissioner, Orutugu

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has led the Anambra State Executive Council in hosting a grand send-forth ceremony for the outgoing State Commissioner of Police, AIG Ikioye Orutugu, who has officially retired from active service.

The special event, first in the history of the state, took place during the State Executive Council meeting held at the Light House, Awka, drawing top government functionaries, security commanders, and members of the state cabinet to celebrate the retiring police chief’s dedicated career and tenure in the state.

Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Soludo lauded CP Orutugu for his unwavering commitment, professionalism, and tactical leadership in maintaining law and order throughout his time at the helm of the Anambra State Police Command.

The Governor noted that the outgoing commissioner in collaboration with sistet agencies, played a crucial role in strengthening security architecture and fostering collaboration between the police force and the state government to safeguard lives and property.

In his remarks, CP Orutugu expressed profound gratitude to the Governor, the Executive Council, and the entire people of Anambra State for their cooperation, logistical support, and partnership during his service, attributing the operational successes recorded by the command to the collective resolve of security personnel and the strong backing of the state administration.

Earlier, the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Tochukwu Nweke, State Director of Department of State Services, Mr. Chuks Anukposi and the Traditional Ruler of Uke, Igwe Charles Agbala, took turns to eulogise the efforts of the Police Commissioner during his service days.

The high point of the executive send-forth session featured the presentation of a commemorative token of appreciation to the retired police commissioner in recognition of his meritorious service to the state and the nation.
