SHUN DRUG ABUSE: CHINONSO URGES FELLOW STUDENTS

Chinonso Okafor, a 300 level student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka has admonished fellow students to shun drug abuse, which can ruin their future.

Chinonso made the call in an interview with some 100 level students of Mass Communication Department, on societal problems affecting the school.

He emphasized the need for students to stay away from drug abuse because of its attendant negative effects on their academics and lives.

“I was a victim of drug abuse and almost ended my life. I suffered from kidney problem because of illicit use of drugs. Finally, I had a kidney transplant thanks to my parents and the doctors who saved my life,” he recalled noting that some of his friends were not as fortunate as he was.

“Some of my friends are dead, some are mentally derailed, some are suffering from severe sicknesses,” Chinonso said.

He strongly advised the students and youths not to fall to the enticement by bad gangs to indulge in hard drugs.

“Don’t let the society influence you, Instead influence the society with good deeds. Be careful with the company you keep,” he concluded.
