The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP, Ikioye Orutugo, on 25th July disclosed that the Anambra State Security Outfit, Operation Udogachi has being directed by the Inspector General of Police to be given professional training on security protocols, ethics and professionalism

“These people were picked from many places, and as a police man, I did not enter police like this, I was trained gradually, it may not come out once, we are in primary training for Operation udogachi, gradually after six months, they would enter secondary, from their to university level.

CP Orutugu who said this in a security Summit held at the Onitsha Area Command during the question and answer section, stated that it will get to a point when people would even be in love with udogachi more than the police.

According to him, “We will train them to a certain level that when they have a case, they finish the case there, if they want to hand over to the Police, they will hand over to the Police.

“Please do not be agitated, the law empowers them to arrest, the criminal code empowers everybody as a civilian, if you see someone committing an offence in your presence, you arrest that person and hands over immediately to the police.

“You don’t need to blame governments, it is a child of necessity, it was a child for two years, we were battling with serious insecurity and it emerged and is aimed to assist in curtailing the increased crime rate by the State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo

“With time, all these things we are facing are temporal challenges, temporary challenges because most of we parents have stopped correcting our children.
A child will leave home and come back by 11pm, you keeps quiet, some of us, if your neighbor corrects your child, you make your child hate that neighbour.

“Those parents and others who blame government, especially the police for the increased crime wave in the state before now that it has been reduced to zero tolerance what role have you played to ensure your children were grown with the fear of God. Before you begin to blame government, before you begin to blame police, let us change the way we pamper our children.

“This time we have become emotional victims to our children especially single mothers, because you want your child to be like the other person, it is not possible, become like Anna in the Bible, take your child to church, take your child to God.

“Most mothers don’t pray serious prayer to their children because she is in the church looking for who bewitched her, she gives the child orientation that everything in life happens by miracle, she prays and fasts from Monday to Sunday but she has told her child not to be greeting her neighbour.

“As a mother, as a community, let us re evaluate our characters, children are now encouraged to do rituals, yahoo yahoo and if you encourage your child to do ritual or yahoo yahoo, be sure that you are going to be the next victim. Your child will come home with iPhone, cars, you encouraged them, tomorrow you will start to blame the police.

“Let us look inwards, all the money we are acquiring is vanity upon vanity , the Bible said, show a child the way to follow, when he grows, he will not depart from it.
