Mrs Ikwumelu Laid To Rest At Umunnachi, Anambra State
The remains of late Mrs Elizabeth Ikwumelu have been laid to rest at her country home, Mgbuke village Umunnachi, Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The burial ceremony, which started with a Church service officiated by the Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, attracted the clergy, in-laws, friends and well-wishers.
Correspondent, Chibuzor Okoye reports that while speaking in a sermon during the burial service, Bishop Ezeofor urged the bereaved relatives to be consoled with the fact the deceased lived a Christ like life while on earth.
Bishop Ezeofor, who spoke on the theme “Escaping the second death”, revealed that there are physical, spiritual and eternal deaths, and warned Christians against not escaping both spiritual and eternal deaths.
The Anglican prelate made it clear that all mortals must die, and urged everyone who came for the burial to prepare for own deaths by living upright lives, as nobody will escape death when it comes.
The second daughter of the deceased, Mrs Uzoamaka Okafor, described her late mother as a very successful Christian woman, whose life impacted humanity positively, and promised to sustain her legacies.
In their various condolence messages, the Provost, Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, Dr. Ifeyinwa Osegbo and Professor Elochukwu Amucheazi, eulogized the late Mrs Ikwumelu and prayed God to give her children the fortitude to bear the irreparable lose.
Late Mrs. Elizabeth Ikwumelu, popularly called “Agwa bu Ugwu nwanyi”, died at the age of eighty seven.
Those left to mourn her were, her husband, Chief Basil Elochukwu Ikwumelu, children, grandchildren, among numerous relations.
Burial rendition by the choir and interment were the highpoints of the burial service.
