Anambra: Mandson Global Services Holds Leadership Summit, Honours 15

Mandson Global Service ltd and Nigeria Police Force in collaboration with Special Adviser to Gov. Chukwuma Soludo on Trade and Markets, (SPAD) Hon. Evarist Uba, and Anambra State Markets Amalgamated Traders’ Association, ASMATA, weekend held a leadership summit to brainstorm on solution to market/business challenges.
Speaking at the summit tagged, “Harnessing the potential of our markets for impact, safety and productivity, which was held at Catholic Women Organisation, CWO, Hall, Cana House, behind St.Patricks Cathedral Awka, the National Coordinator of the National Market Leadership Summit, Amb. Bonaventure Ogochime stated that it is an interactive workshop.
According to him, “The National leadership summit is an all-inclusive deliberation in a bid to providing pragmatic solutions to complex challenges bedeviling our market and business places nationally and at the same time rewarding individuals, leaders, and businesses that have done credibly and excellently well in market cohesion and advancement in Nigeria market/business places.
“This is a dynamic platform aptly created to move Nigerian markets forward and reposition it for greater deliveries in leap and bound and at the same time empower traders and SMEs through soft loans and grants for growth and establishment.
“The summit is people oriented and impact driven and will enhance the lives of common traders and our Markets at large. A National Market Compendium from us (Mandson Global Service Ltd), will assist in serving as a guide into Nigerian markets,” he disclosed further.
Governor Charles Soludo while speaking expressed satisfaction with the summit as it will assist in no small measure towards curtailing the challenges confronting businesses and markets in the state and beyond.
The governor who was ably represented by his Commissioner for Information, Chief Law Mefor, disclosed that the government has been able to train youths in 65 different skills, free of charge, mentored them and gave them financial support.
The Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP, Celestine Umeh, who represented the Inspector General of Police, IGP,, disclosed that the IGP is interested in ensuring security in the country which prompted the summit collaboration between the police and Mandson Global Service Ltd adding that both of them are partners in progress.
Also the Nigerian Red Cross Society led by Helen Nnaji, incharge of Training, Anambra State chapter, put into practice at the event on how to assist during emergencies.
Mrs Iniobon Ebon who represented the Director General , National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, Christiana Adeyeye, reiterated the resolve of the agency to rid the country of fake/adulterated products for the well being of Nigerians and visitors.
Ejidike Valentine, Fire Official in his lecture warned that to avoid fire incidents one should not keep inflammable/flammable materials in places of danger and also ensure that fire extinguishers are always within reach in case of emergency.
Justin Francis, Superintendent, Route Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps, stressed the need for all vehicles’ particulars including driving Licence are up dated. He also warned on road users to read road signs as lack of knowledge of such attributed to road mishap.
The ASMATA President General, PG, Chief Humphrey Anuna, had in his contribution stressed the need for security in all human endeavors adding that with what is garnered in the summit, traders in the state will always remember the organizers of the summit due to its positive impact on the traders
Earlier in his speech, the chairman of the occasion, Chief Stephen Obiorah Ofoleh, expressed satisfaction with the summit and pleaded that it be repeated in no distant time as the participants learnt a lot towards security consciousness and protection.
Highlight of the occasion was presentation of “Excellence market awards”, to 15 market leaders and business magnates.
They included, ASMATA PG, Chief Humphrey Anuna, Chief Ofoleh Obiorah who doubles as occasion chairman/chairman of New Auto spare parts market Nkpor, and Hon. Emeka Mbachu -Chairman of Sokoto Street Market,
Others were, Chief Emma Idoko, chairman of Haruna Street Traders Association, Hon Chijioke Okpalaugo, Chairman of Onitsha Main Market, Hon. Nworah Augustine, Chairman Odera Market Awka, Hon Val ikenna, High Chief Kenneth Nwachukwu, Amb. Onunkwo Chike, Chairman Electrical International Market Obosi and Chief Ozor Basil Uchenna, Chairman-International Textile Market, Bridge Head.
Also honoured were, Chief Samuel Ifurunwa, Chairman, Old Motor Car Parts Dealers, Mgbuka Obosi, Celestine Ezewuru, Chairman Stock Fish Market, Chief Chijioke Okpala, Chairman Grain Seed Market, Mr Izuchukwu, Chairman of Scrap Automotive Metal market, Duru Sunday, Chairman New Motor Cycle Spare Parts Nnewi, Jerry Ugochukwu of Human Care Initiative and Chairman of Onitsha Drug (Ogbogwu) market, Chukwuleta Ndubuisi.
Reacting on the award, Anagor Kenechukwu Financial Secretary, Ogbogwu Bridgehead Market stated that the award given to their Market Chairman, Mr Chukwuleta Ndubuisi whom he represented is a well deserved one.
He attributed it to the achievements of the market chairman so far especially in ensuring the eradication of fake drugs in the market.
