Second Tenure:Nteje Community Appeals to Governor Soludo for Infrastructure, Youth Employment
By Julie Sylvia, Onitsha
The Igwe-elect of Nteje, Christopher Okechukwu Nnebo, has made a heartfelt appeal to Governor Chukwuma Soludo to prioritize infrastructure development and youth employment in his second term, starting March 17, 2026.
In a detailed plea, Nnebo highlighted the community’s dire need for improved infrastructure, stating that Nteje has never had motorable roads. He requested the construction of at least two major roads, which would be a significant relief to the people.
Additionally, he urged the government to improve the local health center, citing the need for better healthcare facilities, especially for maternity services.
Nnebo also expressed concern about the high rate of youth unemployment and insecurity in the community. “We have teeming youths all over the place, and insecurity is a major concern,” he said. “I plead that the governor finds ways to engage them, encourage education, and enforce laws to curb idleness and crime.”
The Igwe-elect praised Governor Soludo’s efforts in addressing the sit-at-home issue, which has been a significant challenge for the state. He also commended the governor’s initiatives, such as the airport road project and street light installation, but emphasized that more needs to be done.
Nnebo urged the government to enhance security measures, particularly along the River Niger shore, which is vulnerable to attacks. He also requested the decentralization of markets to reduce traffic congestion and improve travel logistics.
Furthermore, Nnebo stressed the importance of healthcare, saying a healthy community fosters economic growth. He requested support for traders and encouraged Governor Soludo to apply the same energy used to address the sit-at-home issue to other areas of concern, such as power generation and tourism development.
The Igwe-elect’s appeal highlights the pressing needs of Nteje Community and the expectations of the people from Governor Soludo’s second term. The governor’s response to these concerns will be eagerly awaited by the community and the people of Anambra State.
Nteje Community is one of the many communities in Anambra State that are looking up to Governor Soludo to bring about positive change. With his proven track record of delivering results, the people are hopeful that their concerns will be addressed, and their lives will be improved.
The people of Nteje Community are optimistic that Governor Soludo will respond positively to their appeal and bring about the much-needed development to their community.
